I threw myself into learning everything I could about budgeting, saving, and investing. I also realized that achieving financial freedom isn’t just about saving or investing—it’s about seizing opportunities to increase income.
This insight transformed my financial journey.
In 2018, at 41, I started my first blog and began writing online. That was a turning point for me, marking the start of my journey to making money. Six months later, I made my first $100. Running an online business has become the best way for me to earn money and achieve financial independence. It gives me the freedom to work from anywhere and set my own schedule. While it comes with great responsibility, it allows me to monetize my passion.
Now, I’ve reached the rewarding milestone of generating a steadily growing income through my blog. But I’m not one of those shiny business owners who effortlessly built a six-figure income. I’m not there yet. In fact, earning that first dollar was the hardest.
What I’ve learned is that it’s never too late to start a new career, no matter your background. Despite not having a diploma or professional qualifications, I built my own online business in my 40s.
